Our role
Waverly Gas Producers is located on the fifth largest landfill in the nation. The sheer size of this landfill presented real challenges in the design and installation of a wellfield and pipeline that effectively eliminate the venting of the landfill gas into the atmosphere and turn that gas into a renewable power source.
DTE Biomass Energy’s in-house expertise in engineering and project management enabled us to design and install a wellfield, install the longest dedicated Landfill Gas pipeline in the western hemisphere (23 miles) and determine the compression engines best suited to the project.
Recent expansions to the plant and wellfield have increased the gas flow to the customer by a third.
