Pipeline Quality Gas
Landfill gas is treated and scrubbed through a series of processes to produce a pipeline quality gas that is equivalent to natural gas.
Before your landfill gas becomes pipeline quality, it is
- compressed and cooled
- sent to a carbon dioxide absorber
These steps transform the landfill gas into a pipeline quality gas stream that can be injected into natural gas pipelines. To ensure that the gas stream will flow through the pipeline at all times, the stream will be compressed to about 700 psig.
Pipeline quality gas from landfill gas is a renewable fuel and, as such, has renewable attributes that may be monetized as well.
